Take a Hike Ike!!

Ok, so I really plan on getting on here soon and catching everyone up on our lives. But for now, there is a humongous hurricane coming straight for us! This is one of the biggest storms people have seen in a long time. The path ir is supposed to take is straight up I-45 and give us anywhere from 75-110 mph winds. Not to mention the possible tornadoes, flooding, flying debri, etc.... With this being said, there has been the preparing that we have been doing last night and today. So last night I did 3 loads of laundry because if we don't have power (could be for a week or two), I needed that out of the way. I gathered up the pictures, and sentimental items, boxed them, and loaded them in my trunk. I also put several big tubs of papers, and some clothes in my closet. Today I woke up to a text message from the weather channel saying we were under a hurricane wind watch, as well as a flood watch until SUNDAY!!! So I got going and made Kyleigh and I breakfast, then she wanted to pack her bag for grammy's. I let her help, then I packed mine. While I was in the shower, my sweet baby girl emptied the dishwasher for me without me knowing. She was so proud and happy to help me, because she knew I was in a frinnzy! Then grammy came with the truck and we loaded all of the boxes neccesary, Kyleigh's bike, and packed all of my frozen meat and cold items in an ice chest, and the dog. I took pictures of all of my furniture, and the house, then shut all of the doors to all of my rooms, and said a prayer in my house that our Great Weather Man above would protect my house. So now we are hanging out between Grammy and Pa's house, and GG's house waiting for this nasty storm. It has literally been the calm before the storm. Kyleigh on the other hand thinks this is fun.....no school, and we are all home together. She accumulated a "hurricane ready" outfit and said ok...I'm ready!! Oh to be 5 again! We also went over to her friend Koby's house for a bit so they could hopefully use up ALOT of stored up energy that we will gain over the weekend of this mess. I am going to take a nap for a while, so I can stay up when the storm comes through here to watch over my baby and dog. Dad will stay with GG, who says she has her flashlight and phone so she is ready!! Please pray for safety, and a quick recovery from this storm.
